Silver Maple is a intriguing landscape tree, aging with low, sometimes twisted branches, a thick trunk and a whitish color to the undersides of the leaves looking shiny in the breeze.
Silver Maple grows in wet soils but is adaptable to drier sites. Best to plant away from driveways, where the shallow roots may cause trouble, and away from a lot of foot traffic because of weak branches that may come down in storms.
