This handy little sedge can handle just about any spot, even dry shade, as long as it gets at least some protection from the sun.
 
Its leaves are deep green and mostly evergreen, and star-shaped flower spikes pop above the foliage in late spring.  
 
Rose sedge makes a great landscape plant at the wood's edge or in dappled shade.
