Late Figwort is one of the best plants for pollinators, attracting bees, wasps, butterflies and hummingbirds.  Its urn-shaped flowers bloom all summer long, purplish on the outside and reddish-brown on the inside.

Also a large plant, Late Figwort can be used as a shrub, and since it is herbaceious and loses its above-ground growth in the winter, in can be particularly useful in places where snow or ice could damage woody shrubs.

Fun fact: Beekeepers have used this plant to make great-tasting honey!
