Hubricht's Bluestar, or Threadleaf Bluestar, is one of the most outstanding plants out there.  Even though its native range is limited to parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas, it has been widely planted and does well in the Northeast.

We're including it in our selection because of its popularity but also because it ranked top in the Mt. Cuba Center's Amsonia trials, noted for its "billowing, feathery" foliage and "exceptional golden fall color."

Threadleaf Bluestar was the Perennial Plant Association's Perennial Plant of the Year in 2011.  It attracts butterflies and other pollinators, although It can take up to two years for this plant to fully mature.
