Field Pussytoes really likes dry rocky soil, and in full to part sun it will spread overtime to form a nice groundcover.

In spring its flowers appear looking a bit like fuzz, or tufts of hair.  The flowers bloom for about three weeks.  The plant spreads by sending out stolons, or stems, horizontally along the ground.

Field Pussytoes also is known for its roundish, silvery-green leaves, which hug the ground.  Field Pussytoes is a host plant for the American Painted Lady butterfly, and it attracts other butterflies and flying things.
