Culver's Root is kind of like the Black Bugbane for sunny gardens as both are statuesque plants with white blooms offering bold vertical backdrops.
The small, white blooms on Culver's Root can take on a purplish hue as they open from the bottom of the stem to the top. Its flower spikes have been described as candelabra-like.
This is a clump-forming plant, growing naturally in moist meadows and woodland openings. It attracts tons of bees, butterflies, native flies and moths.
