Prepping for Spring
Now is the time to plan a new native garden with the availability of plugs
Why plugs? They're economical -- $5 per plant -- and they're so small it's easy to get a lot in the ground quickly.
What to Plant?
Just about any of the plants we offer can be ordered as plugs
Our only requirements are that you:
-
Choose at least five of each species,
-
Buy at least 10 plugs total, and
-
Order by March 1
Plugs are $5 each for 50 or more and $8 each for anywhere between 10 and 45, ordering in increments of five.
Orders must be received by March 1. To order, email us at jennifer@treetalknatives.com.
Here are a few ideas
Create a garden with New York Fern, Threadleaf Bluestar and Bleeding Hearts, similar to the plants in this image from the New York Botanic Garden (Photo: JR P CC BY-NC 2.0)
Wildlife would not complain if you were to plant Cattails along a pond or stream bank.
Beauty in simplicity: Mix Foxglove Beardtongue with native grasses such as Little Bluestem and Wood's Sedge
Replace your lawn with a glorious ground cover like this expanse of Golden Alexanders edging up to the fence
